Does anyone know a good and inexpensive Serengeti Safari Operator?

Postby arnoldo72 » Sat Dec 12, 2009 9:56 pm

I am going to Africa next summer and I want to do a 3/4 night safari to the Serengeti/Crater. Some places are charging an arm and a leg. Does anyone know of a good and safe company to use?

Also, is this the best route to take? Can you just book day safaris at hotels? Or is the guided package better for some reason? I am concerned about pick ups and transfers.

Thanks.

Unfortunately, your requirements make it tough to really be able to accomplish this at low cost.

Ideally, you could go on a group trip to save money, but they generally require more than 3 or 4 nights as you required.

You could get your own private guide - but you probably already know that is going to add $200 - $250 per day to your total costs. It would give you the flexibility you want however.

If you haven't already checked, I check out the travel agents and tour operators provided by the Tanzania Tourism Board (link is below) - it is possible that one of them can help you keep your costs down. Good Luck!
