Prophet Moses beat stone.
Volume 1, Book 5, Number 277:
Narrated Abu Huraira:
The Prophet said, ‘The (people of) Bani Israel used to take bath naked (all together) looking at each other. The Prophet Moses used to take a bath alone. They said, ‘By Allah! Nothing prevents Moses from taking a bath with us except that he has a scrotal hernia.’ So once Moses went out to take a bath and put his clothes over a stone and then that stone ran away with his clothes. Moses followed that stone saying, “My clothes, O stone! My clothes, O stone! till the people of Bani Israel saw him and said, ‘By Allah, Moses has got no defect in his body. Moses took his clothes and began to beat the stone.” Abu Huraira added, “By Allah! There are still six or seven marks present on the stone from that excessive beating.”
Does the Quran need such nonsense to clarify it!

Submission to Allah Allmighty, Monotheism, Glorious Quran is Complete, Deatiled and Perfect

to answer you, the Qur'an is a book of guidance not a message, Prophet Muhammad peace and blessings be upon him had the message.

and about the hadith, there's nothing wrong of Prophet Muhammad peace and blessings be upon him telling a story to his companions.

The message of Quran is in Quran not in Hadith. Hadith have nothing to do with Islam (45:6), (77:50)

Quran and Hadith are on diametrically opposite sides. Quran calls for submission and obedience to GOD the Most Gracious, with reason, rationality, and conviction. Hadith calls for a total denial of reason and ask people to surrender to idiotic and preposterous doctrines that have no bases with the Scripture or common sense.

Hadith are bundles of Satanic lies that are leading people to Hell while they are in complete oblivion, Ya hasratan 'alal 'ibad.

The message of Quran is in reading the Quran and in upholding it strongly and not equating other books with it.
