I just moved to America so I'm not fluent in English..help please!

"Self identity and personal expression take many forms. Fro example, music politics and etc can each be a defining attribute. Do you surf or tinker? Are you a vegetarian poet who loves Ayn Rand? DO you prefer you tube or test tube? are you preppie or Goth? use the richness of your life to give us insight: what voice ill you add to the CLASS OF 2014?"

In January of 2010, as I set on the bench to take out my tuna sandwich for lunch, two girls sat next to me. I did not acknowledge them, but I overheard them subconsciously. Those two friends were talking about one of their friend who is pursuing doctor’s degree. However, instead of praising their friend’s achievements and courage, they ridiculed her since she was African American. Those two girls’ remarks struck my mind since I am an Asian American. Then, I left the bench with bitterness and disappointment.
Even the world encountered many historical movements such as the Women’s Rights or Civil Rights movement; we are still living in 18th century. Our modern world is full of judgments, bias and arrogant. Ever since I was a kid, I was raised with strict education on racism and heritage difference therefore I have strong belief in equal race. We have power to create others’ own identities but why consider outside factors? We have power to make limits and break them. For the better society, the idea of determining others’ own identities based on outside factors has to change once and for all. I am enthusiastic activist and prominent believer of equal right.

Edits are incorporated into the essay:
