When you're watching the video on your computer, you're probably not using YouTube's player which is Macromedia Flash 7. You're probably using WMP or something else. So the particular settings in you local player might make the picture seem brighter than they would in Flash. Also, when you submit the video in something other than Flash format, YouTube converts the video. It's possible that during the conversion process, the picture gets darker. There's always a loss of quality during any video conversion process, and I've had instances where a codec's settings made my video much darker. But I've never uploaded anything to YouTube so I don't have a basis for comparison there. But it's a reasonable guess. So how do you fix this? Adjust the brightness in your video and in your player to more closely resemble what you see displayed on YouTube. It's a guess, but I think it's a reasonable one. Good luck!!
